Colocasia are a popular clumping perennial with
beautiful leaves. Makes a wonderful statement when fully grown. Ideal for a warm, frost-free, sunny or partly shaded garden position, containers or as an indoor plant in large pots.
Coffee Cups: have beautiful, cupped leaves which will collect rainwater until it is heavy enough to bend the stem.
Elephant’s Ear: have beautiful heart-shaped leaves which have dramatic green venation which highlights the black background.
Black Magic: have beautiful, heart shaped,
purple/black leaves.
Colocasia will make a stunning statement in any large container combination or in the landscape as it grows to heights of 100cm. It also loves wet conditions and can be used as a water plant growing best in full sun to part shade locations. Colocasia ‘Coffee Cups’ is adaptable as a houseplant but please note that it can be toxic to pets.
These are durable plants that will perform best with moist to wet soil but can tolerate some drought stress. Drought stress will negatively affect the appearance of the plant.
